Paper Recycling Kit Fun

Yesterday marked the two year anniversary of my Mums passing, I thought it would be great to spend some time with the kids. When I found this paper recycling kit at the thrift store ($3.50) I knew it was a perfect activity for us. Buy your own kit here. Or read further for instructions on how to make your own.

I have been working hard on my Woodland Blanket, but when I came across the Twig+Tail patterns I had to strategically add in a few sewing breaks.

My Story

This post contains affiliate links

That was me ^, as you can see I had just completed the Mount Maunganui Half Marathon. I was 86 kgs at 24. Apart from avoiding P.E at school and a few of my teenage years I was always active. I played outside as a kid, I walked 6-9 km a day to get to and from school (age 11-13). I walked my dog, I delivered pamphlets and I obviously trained for a half marathon.

All that activity didn't stop me from gaining weight. Why? Because nutrition is the most important part of weight loss. You can't out run a bad diet.

Family Gift Hamper

Personalized Mother's Day Gifts

This family gift hamper was so fun to put together. I absolutely loved choosing the items to include.

Sew Your Own Rice Pack

Online Sewing Class

Rice packs are handy things to have. You can heat them in the microwave to keep warm or put them in the freezer to use as ice packs.

I added this particular rice pack to a Family Gift Hamper I put together. You can find the tutorial to make your own here.

Dragonfly Wings Knitted Shawl

This is my first knitted shawl. It's actually more like a shawlette than a full shawl. If you want to make your own you can find the FREE pattern here.

How to Train Your Dragon: Astrid Costume

Online Crochet Class

So when each child was asked if they wanted to be a Viking or a Dragon, my little girl decided to be Astrid. Thanks love, more work for me.

Actually it was quite quick and easy to make. First I did a sketch of the parts we wanted to make, did I mention I can't draw? Then I took measurements.

Here is a basic overview on how I made each part.
